Our Story
Tucked away in the central courtyard of Stag Works, once home to legendary 2Fly Studios, where Arctic Monkeys, Reverend and the Makers, and countless others found their sound, Zephyr’s is a new kind of music venue. Built from scratch by two mates with a shared passion for live gigs and decent beer, it’s a DIY bar with a serious love for sound.
Founders Tom Grindle and Ross Holliman (a joiner and an electrician by day) turned lockdown frustration into ambition, transforming a raw industrial space into a fully functioning live venue and bar, chipping away in the evenings, salvaging materials from other jobs, and calling in favours from mates along the way. What started as an idea over a pint has become something real, alive and buzzing with energy.
The result? A grassroots venue with character, craft beer and a killer sound system, where you’re just as likely to stumble into metal karaoke, a DJ night or a live band cutting their teeth on the same floor where Sheffield’s musical history was made.
Zephyr’s isn’t your typical bar. It’s not polished. It’s not packaged and that’s exactly the point. It’s a venue with soul, rooted in the community that surrounds it, recording studios, rehearsal rooms, clothing brands, stonemasons, and bakeries all share this building, and the energy is palpable.
We’re here for the music-lovers, the gig-goers, and the bands looking for somewhere real to play. We serve quality drinks (no warm beer in plastic cups here) and throw the doors open on matchdays, weekends, and whenever there’s something worth coming down for.
Whether you're a promoter, band, DJ, or just looking for a spot to host something a bit different, get in touch. Zephyr’s is open, loud, and ready.
See you at the bar.
